Just Because

The poor, slow fish

Down here, autumn is often an unseasonably hot time of the year. And being that most of the water that flows past the southern coast here in Melbourne was once frozen Antarctic ice, it's just now warm enough for a short wetsuit. With this in mind, my work mate Alex and I headed down to the beach for a little spot of spearfishing. This is a picture of our haul. The two small ones are probably well under legal size snapper but the two big ones were well fought for butterfish locally known as dusky morwong. (I didn't catch either of these snapper by the way).
The fish I got was no real challenge to spear compared to the snapper that I had missed earlier. By contrast he was slow and dumb and I pretty much suprised him from behind. Once on the spear though he put up quite a fight. I nearly lost him twice. In the end I felt a bit sorry for him...but he sure did make a tasty curry.

In the City 1

This is one of my favorite buskers in town. He never ceases to crack me up. Sometimes I imagine he escaped from some obscure 80's video game he's been held hostage in, providing the soundtrack for for the past twentysome years. Anyway, I present to you...the Theraminator!!!!

(Will have video link when Buddha tells me how to uplaod them)
